Experiential Learning Track
Design + Making

The world of design and making at MIT is vast, interdisciplinary, and expanding. Whether your medium of choice is wood, code, or bacteria, you can find an ELO that lets you create something truly spectacular.
At MIT, design and making ELOs take the form of project-based classes, research opportunities, entrepreneurship and innovation, individual projects (with mentor feedback, of course!), and more! Not sure where to start? Staff in any of the programs listed on this page can direct you to funding, training, mentorship, and opportunities that suit your needs and interests.
Find Your ELO
Design and making show up in all sorts of ELOs, including UROPs, D-Lab classes, and programs like NEET and GEL. To get started, check out the links above or visit the MIT Morningside Academy for Design’s pages for undergraduates and graduate students.
Some design and making opportunities can also be found on ELx. Select “Design and Making” under “Type” to see relevant listings.
